Introduction to the Modules
The EMHLR provides educators with classroom-ready lesson plans, videos, activities, slides, and other easily accessible resources to deliver and integrate into existing curriculum. The EMHLR includes 6 modules intended to be taught in sequence. Before beginning module 1, please familiarize yourself with all of the modules and decide on the activities and delivery format(s) that work best for your classroom.
Each module provides:
- Conceptual Knowledge – key concepts to be conveyed to students
- Procedural Knowledge – competencies students should achieve after completing the module
- Handle With Care – consideration for potentially sensitive topics
- Core Concept Videos (required) – illustrate the core concepts and create the foundation for the activities and lessons. All of the core concepts are covered in the videos.
- Module Activities (with digital adaptations) – step by step instructions to engage students and reinforce the core concepts. Digital Delivery suggestions are provided for both online delivery and in-person delivery using technology.
- Alternative Module Activites – additional options to adapt to student needs and/or teaching style
‘Celebration of Learning’ – Activity suggestions are included to consolidate the core concepts upon completion of the 6 modules.
